A River Photo Walk
Hopefully, this is the start of a new ongoing series here on my blog. It’s an opportunity to combine several of my hobbies. Those would be photography, blogging and being outside.
Over the last several months, I’ve had a couple of hospitalizations and some health scares. This made me realize that I need to be doing more for my health. One thing that I need to do more is exercise. (It doesn’t hurt that my family and I are going to Mexico this summer for vacation and I want to have the stamina to enjoy it.) I also want to make the time to do more of what I love. In this case photography. So I have decided to do some photo walks. This is the first of what I hope to be many.
On this walk, I went a little over a mile along the Colorado river. It was a beautiful day. The weather was cool, with the sun shining bright. I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
The path I walked went right along the river. This area has been well developed with maintained paths and even restrooms and benches. Anyone can enjoy this trail.
The river was low, as is normal for this time of year. In a month or so, when the snow starts melting on the mountains, it will come up and get faster. I look forward to capturing it at that time.
Because spring was just starting, there were only small spots of green amongst the browns. Again, this will change as spring really takes hold.
Overall, this was a very peaceful walk. It was healing to my soul. There is no doubt that this was the right choice for me. I look forward to doing it more and exploring more of the space around my home. Enjoy these photos.
